Microsoft has released the official Windows Live Messenger app for iPhone and iPod touch. Windows Live Messenger for iPhone and iPod Touch features most of the capabilities and functions of desktop-based Windows Live Messenger (WLM) client, including send and receive instant messages, concurrent chat support with push notification when the app is closed, ability to view or set photos, links, and other rich content as status message, notification when new emails arrived in Hotmail inbox, connect to other social networks such as Windows Live, Facebook, Flickr, Youtube and MySpace, ability to check emails from mobile web version of Hotmail from within the app, and etc.

Optical Character recognizing for Tamil...

Its very interesting to know that optical character recognizing is also applied for Tamil language. A typical stall showed this feature of  digital eye in the on going Tamil Word Conference in Coiambatore, Tamil Nadu. 


 Using this the computer will reproduce the exact Tamil word which we write on a paper or a screen. This can be used widely by the translators and also by the common public. This reduces the strain of learning the tricks and statics in the fonts. As Tamil is a growing language it is very important to ensure that it is available for the internet users world wide.

     According to a daily, Satellite phones are very soon to be launched in India. However the security officials are opposing this because the security agencies from any country can hack in and they can listen to the calls. The security protocols should be followed in case of such systems. They also demand the company which provides this system should install their ground station in India.

    An English company is trying to establish a wing in India very soon. If the service is provided users can access data in a speed higher than internet on their phones.

If any connection is ther connect it.../// The moderm configuration is very importanr.The modem should be configuted such that it shouldconnect to intternet immmediately after switching onn. No dialing procedures should be enabled. If so tje obile will show as connected but data transfer wont happen.. This is the common problem everyone is facing now./ Configure the modem properly to get spppeeeeoddd data rate. ..     Few days back I installed a  extension for chrome... It is really cool. It is "webpage Screen Shot".
The special feature of this extension is it can create the image of the whole currently opened webpage.
This feature is not available in most of other similar extensions.

As VoIP networks proliferate, the threat of voice-based spam clogging them becomes more and more real.

Looking at the nuisance created by e-mail spam,will history repeat itself here also?

Spam on VoIP is called SPIT (SPam

over Internet Telephony).Everyone

gets spam,especially if he/she has an

e-mail address.While we’re still fighting email

spam, it’s threatening us on VoIP too.

Spam is quite possible over voice circuits,

especially the VoIP ones, and it can be just

as menacing as that over e-mail. And the

reason for this is because it uses the same

TCP/IP for transport.

In fact, the annual cost to companies

around the world for just fighting spam

was as high as Rs 45 Bn in 2003 and this is

expected to rise to Rs 765 Bn this year.

Besides huge financial loss, companies

also have to put up with loss of productivity

and increased costs of support on their

IT desks. Since the IT desk would need to

intervene in tracking and blocking such

spam on your coporate networks.This cost

will only go up once spam becomes prevalent

Yahoo and Nokia Combining Together !!! "Project Nike"

     According to the sources there is a chance for Yahoo and Nokia to combine together in the forth coming mobile products.

    The invitation from Yahoo this week for the press conference raised this doubt. It says "Please join Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz for an exciting announcement about providing global consumers with rich online and mobile experiences, and bringing forward a new era in keeping consumers connected."




    The gossip is that Nokia is going to make a Yahoo-centric phone. The code name for this partnership deal is "Project Nike". Yahoo has had a range of mobile initiatives and has had many, mostly failed, partnerships with carriers and telecom makers.


    Recently Nokia released mobiles that people dislike and Yahoo provided mobile service that they disliked said CNET News .

Automatic Printer Switcher

Automatic Printer Switcher is a helpful tool for users who work in computing environments with multiple printers that are used regularly for different print jobs. The free program can be used to link documenttypes or programs with printers so that it becomes possible to configure default printers for each which are then automatically selected in the print jobs

The default printer configuration is a two step process. The program lists all connected printers and their assigned application in its interface. A click on the Add program button will list all open application windows.

It is now possible to select applications and assign a default printer to them. Program windows need to be open to assign the printer mapping.

Automatic Printer Switcher needs to be running in the background to redirect the print jobs to the configured printers.

The user needs to execute the printing functionality of the application normally, the selection of the default printer will be handled by Printer Switcher.

Automatic Printer Switcher requires the Microsoft .net Framework 3.5. It is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit editions of multiple Windows operating systems including Windows 7.

The program can be downloaded from the developer’s website. The program currently has no homepage with additional information.

Hover board

The geeky achievement is made possible thanks to electromagnets and lasers. Guadagnin detailed that his project, which started back in 2008, works due to the board's integrated magic: It includes an impressive laser system which ensures the stabilization of the hoverboard in addition to an electromagnetic system which makes the levitation possible.

The video below shows his board hovering. Be sure to watch out for when Nils gives the board a push, the stabilization process is speedy and impressive:

Hopefully Nils' creation will inspire others and in the not to distant future we will all be hovering along like Marty McFly. How long it will be is anyone's guess, but people like Nils are keeping the geeky dream alive.

Facebook Can't Be Trusted

 The privacy statements announced by the CEO Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook created a question of actual privacy of Facebook users.

 The press release on December by the Facebook group created a serious issue. Those December changes led the Electronic Privacy Information Center, together with the Center for Digital Democracy, the American Library Association, the Consumer Federation of America and other privacy organizations, to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).


 The user data can be accessed without the permission of the user using some specific application's. Even if the user is not using the application, their friends who uses the application can grab user data of any individual. 

 The construction of Facebook is now questioned for honor and privacy. The users can control over their posts but they cannot control what Facebook is providing to the third party applications. If Facebook continues this the reputation will be at risk. 


 Facebook users should be aware of what is going on right now.

Computer Virus Affected man

      Dr. Mark Gasson, a cybernetics expert at the University of Reading in England infected himself with a computer virus ( embedded a RFID chip in his wrist ).This was part of an experiment designed to show how implantable bionic devices are susceptible to computer viruses.

      He is able to access the security systems in his university. A virus is installed into the chip. After that when he enters the lab, and when the computers read his code the virus replicated into the system and affected the computer.


      This wont affect Gasson's  health but if people having pace makers, hearing aid, deep brain stimulators 
can be easily affected  by the system. This will create a serious issue in the future.

It has a build in memory of 128 mb and lot more features...
     The phone has wi-fi connectivity which takes it a step ahead. It is provided with a 5 mega pixel camera and a Symbian OS. The phone provides number of shotcuts right from the standby screen. A higher version of media player and extendibility of the memory provides optimum utilization of the phone.

     The phone also support Java and Symbian applications. The wide screen and high sensitivity of this mobile is a gift for the users.

     Even though the phone possess lot of advantages it also hold's number of defects.

Mcafee Crashes Computers < Antivirus or Virus >

     It is found that the specific update obtained from the Mcafee website itself is the reason for the constant crashing of computers. Severe problems occurred allover the globe.

The specific update : McAfee Security Centre update 16/4/10 6:50pm EST Sydney Australia.

     This specific update created a global issue in computers. Later it was found that the after the update the software identified some system files as virus and discarded them. This created constant hang up or freezing problems.

     The authorities took responsibility and accepted to repair the affected machines.
